About SMD Resistor Calculator
This calculator helps you decode Surface Mount Device (SMD) resistor markings. It supports both standard 3-digit codes and EIA-96 (3-character) marking systems commonly used on SMD resistors.
How to Use
- Enter the code from your SMD resistor (3 to 5 characters)
- Click "Calculate Resistance" to see the value
- Or use the preset buttons for common values
Code Types
3-Digit Code (Standard)
- First two digits: Significant figures
- Last digit: Multiplier (number of zeros)
- Examples:
- 103 = 10 × 10³ = 10kΩ
- 472 = 47 × 10² = 4.7kΩ
- 105 = 10 × 10⁵ = 1MΩ
EIA-96 Code
- First two digits: Value code (01-96)
- Letter: Multiplier (A-Z)
- Examples:
- 01B = 100Ω
- 22D = 165KΩ
- 85X = 75Ω
